This pie crust recipe requires a few extra ingredients, but it so worth the effort. Perfectly light and flaky.
Mix together:
1/2 c cold water
1 egg
1 T lemon juice or vinegar (I always use lemon juice)
In a large bowl, combine:
4 1/2 c all-purpose flour
1 T sugar
1 t salt
1 t baking powder
Cut in:
2 c shortening
Add egg mixture and mix until smooth.
Makes two double pie crusts.
